The Alien films are a Hybrid of horror and sci-fi, so the Genre Conventions in this film should be that of horror and sci-fi.

- Threatening situations.

- Nameless fears.

- Dissonant music.

- Creatures (aliens).

- Helplessness.

- Safe made unsafe, and safe again.
